Marquis in DTLA: Grand Avenue Adventures

We're starting our Marquis summer adventures close to our home office in Downtown LA. Tall buildings and busy streets can be found in any large city, so we wanted to focus on parts of Los Angeles that simply can not be replicated.

Our first adventure into downtown was all about the bustling creativity found on Grand Ave, a street filled with unique architecture and spectacular museums. We started with a dash of magic by heading to the Walt Disney Concert Hall. With an exterior made almost entirely out of stainless steel, this building may just outshine all others in the area. For any audiophiles, the interior is also said to be one of the most acoustically sophisticated in the world.

Even if you don't plan on viewing a performance, take some time to head upstairs to the public rooftop garden and see the amazing architecture of the building from different angles.

Our second spotlight venue was The Broad. Located next door to the Walt Disney Concert Hall, The Broad is a contemporary art museum that hosts some of the most important creations by this century's artists. If you decide to visit, we recommend Yayoi Kusama's Infinity Mirror Rooms, an installation you've probably seen on more than one friend's Instagram. Don't forget to check out the museum's large Basquiat collection, as well as its featured summer exhibition on African American art titled New Soul of a Nation.

There's still plenty of spectacular sights to see, both in Downtown and around Los Angeles, so make sure to follow our Instagram @drinkmarquis to explore them with us. If you head to one of the spots we mentioned or refuel with a Marquis during your summer adventures, make sure to use #MarquisMoment for a chance to be featured on our page.
